your baby might not be latched correctly. it shouldn't hurt while you're feeding, my daughter was latching wrong and I watched youtube videos to see how to latch her correctly and breastfeeding wasn't painful after that. it's normal to get sore cracked nipples though and for that lanolin or breastmilk works. good luck mommy:)

You may be latched wrong, but it also is a little painful in the beginning. It's not easy and I hated that people made it seem like it was. It is an amazing experience and a great time for you to bond with your baby, don't get me wrong. But it is also very painful until your nipples toughen up. The best best best best ointment I used was the honest company. It's also something that is friendly to the baby so you could breastfeed after putting it on. I literally only had to put it on in the morning and was okay throughout the rest of the day. It will get better momma. Keep up the good work 😊👏.

if your nipples are dry use lanolin nipple ointment but if your baby isn't latching on properly and it hurts you should try using a nipple sheild . My baby didn't latch on properly the first few weeks because my nipples were to big and the sheild helped out so much now I don't even need one since she's gotten bigger . madela has nipple shields you can buy anywhere

Lanolin from lansinoh it worked wonders for me

Have you seen a lactation consultant? They can assess your specific problem and make the best recommendations based on what they see. So much better than a shot in the dark.
