Any tips on how to get ur baby to sleep through the night in her own bed
Things we've tried:
~ swaddling
~ singing
~ rocking
~ waking her up earlier
~ less naps
~ and her fav toy
She is breast feed and has slept with us since day on but now it is time to move her to her own bed but she wakes up and starts crying every time she feels the motion of us putting her down we've tried the little bed that u put beside ur bed but unless she is physically touching someone she can't sleep Iv even let her cry for a few minutes and then I felt like a bad mom cause she's only little for so long but Ik that self soothing is a major skill for a baby to learn u Mommas have any advice I'm lost at this point.

Girl I'm in the same boat! We tried the cry it out method and I couldn't do it. After the second night she was crying so hard she threw up twice and I was sobbing. So we got a book called The No Cry Sleep Solution by Elizabeth Pantley. I haven't started it but I'll let you know how it works when I do @sammirsmith

@sammirsmith, oh yea it is, I feel the same way. I feel that it goes against everything we have as mothers as far as our instincts. Everyone says the cry it out method is good, but I disagree. I think that it breaks the trust and comfort mothers provide their babies with. I was googling it and there are studies that show that it's actually detrimental for babies to cry it out mentally and emotionally. I just can't do it

@missliss, I feel the same way although I do agree that they need to learn to soothe there selves there are some studies supporting both theories but I'm stuck in the middle I want her to be able to soothe her self and not to feel like she is alone at the same time. I tell u this momma stuff is hard I'm always wondering if I'm doing it right.

There are a bunch of different sleep training methods you can try with your baby. The key is to find a good routine and stick with it. She needs to learn how to self soothe and if u run to her every time she whimpers she will not learn that skill but if crying it out is too much for you to handle there are many more gentle methods where u can physically be in the room until the baby falls asleep and u verbally comfort her but dont pick her up, or theres ferber where u let her cry for a set amount of time before checking on her. Its all what works for you

I saw this life hack where someone used a glove with rice and heated it in the microwave and when they laid baby down they sat that on them so they felt like someone was still there.
