I had my sweet baby girl two and a half weeks ago. I started breastfeeding at the hospital and all was well. When I got home I thought all was well but when I took her to the dr a few days later she had lost a little more weight than the dr wanted so he told me to supplement with formula every other feeding. After two days she had gained almost half a pound! So dr said I could cut back/eliminate the formula. So I cut back to once at night for a week. Then the next week at the weight check, she had only gained a half ounce in a week! Dr told me to start pumping to increase my milk supply and supplement with either breast milk or formula after feeding at least four times per day. When I pumped I got milk although not that much (about an ounce total both breasts). I had a feeling that when she was nursing that she wasn't getting anything so I was supplementing every feeding with formula or the little rear milk I had pumped. I went to a LC that next morning for a weighed feeding and I was right. Anabelle nursed for 20m on my left side and didn't gain anything. Not even a gram! Poor thing was starving. The LC showed me how to use an SNS device but when I tried it at home I end up with milk or formula all over the breast pillow and baby's face. (I use a nipple shield bc I have short flat nipples). Anyway, i started taking fenugreek four days ago to increase my supply. In the morning (8:00am) after not pumping all night I pump about 2 and 1/2 oz and then after that each pump yields about 1/2 oz to 1 oz total on both boobs. I'm trying not to get frustrated and sad but I want to produce more milk and be able to nurse Anabelle. Any tips?

Gaterade seems to help drinking so much water can strain your electrolytes which can make you dehydrated even while drinking water. Target also sells these cookies 🍪 I went and bought some only had 1 and my supply is good already and holy cow it shot you within a few hours and in the evening when your supply naturally drops it's called milk makers lactation cookies I've made them handmade but nothin like these

Oh and I've continued with my nipple shield as well, I know some people say it affects milk supply but the medela ones are the best and I've never had a problem with it

Oatmeal and lots of water, like so much water you feel like a fish. I take the fenugreek capsules and mothers milk a few times a day, and try to nurse often like an hour and a half to every two hours for as long as she latches. Hope this helps😊
