started around 6 months but she would lean forward or fall to the side alot. it wasnt til a little over 7 months that she could sit perfectly without tipping at all. there really is no way to make them practice it you just have to keep doing it with them. it just takes time for them to build those muscles

3 1/2 months we had actually got her one of the fisher price sit me up chairs and it really helps
