Can you stay closer to the hospital so you can be there more often? I stayed a Ronald McDonald house so I could visit my 29 weeker every day. I had a 4 year old at home and that made the experience worse because I didn't see him a lot during that 7 week nicu stay but I think it really helped being there with him everyday. That's what helped me cope. I'm kind of a roll with the punches kind of person anyway and everyone copes with a nicu stay differently. I took everyday as it came. I considered myself lucky my itty bitty was doing so well. Staying with him really helped.
