I use to do arts and craft with my nieces and nephews before I moved. I'm studying for a BA in Child's Study so I practice with my daughter and used to practice activites with my 10 nieces and nephews. We would practice letters, shapes, colors ect at the age of 1. Also playdough (you can make edible playdough), painting, coloring, even would bake with them. Blocks is also good activity. You can do bubbles and teach your child that soap and water makes bubbles. There's a bunch of stuff. To as simple as gluing two empty soda bottles together and placing glitter, water, and a little soap inside. Forts are good for their imagination development.
my son likes to help me water and clean the yard. we also "work out" together with is mainly just him rolling around on the ground trying to copy me, but it does get a lot of his energy out.
