height and weight matter but being 2 years old she still should be in a rear facing car seat since her little bones are not ready for a booster. can you find an extended rear facing car seat to fit her size?

My sons is 4 and we just turned him around. Everyone is fast to say their kids is to tall. A broken leg is easier to deal with than a broken neck. When they are rear facing the seat of the vehicle takes the impact. When they are forward facing their neck takes the impact.

I would just do your research on it. In the end you are mom, so trust your gut. Even if you don't rear face a harness seat is still much safer than a booster for that young. With my first child I was fast to put him in a booster, that was until I seen what my best friend went through. Her 21 month old daughter passed away from a car accident. A man under the influence T-boned them right on baby Gabbys side. In reality her death could have been prevented if people don't get high and drive and if only someone would have educated us on carseat safety. Not even 2 years old and taken, 3 months shy of her 2nd birthday. It still haunts me today. And just knowing that I also put my 2 year old in a booster. That could have been my son!! I have never seen such pain as I have seen with a person so close to me losing a child. Everyone says "I am a careful driver." Yes, that may be true. But you never know how other people drive.

@alexislucimarie90, what seat do you have her in right now? The graco extend2fit is good for tall kids, I don't remember the specs off the top of my head but I know it can be used rear facing longer than a lot of seats! If you have Facebook check out the group "car seats for the littles," it's run by car seat safety techs and they are super helpful with any and all car seat questions!
