So I have been with my SO for 8 + Years. We were high school sweethearts. We now have 2 beautiful children together and we have been through a lot of rough patches throughout our relationship. We just recently moved into a bigger home and the kids and I were so excited for a new fresh way to start the year and one day my SO texts me that he would rather us go our separate ways. We are still living together and at first you could tell he didn't want to be there much but now he has been acting more normal though he says he hasn't changed his mind on anything no matter how extra nice or sweet I try to be he says that it doesn't mean anything to him anymore. My question is should I keep trying to keep my family together or should I just give up?

move on

It's much easier said then done but it'll be in your best interest to move on. You'll end up doing more damage to yourself then good. In your heart you'll feel like things are getting better, and if he then hits you with the same thing then he's only going to tear your heart to pieces. You never know, he may just need space. I'm so sorry you're going through this. I'm here to talk if you need it 💕

Ask him if he would be willing to go to couples counseling with you. If he is not willing to do that, then he is not willing to do what it takes to be in this relationship.

If this came it of the blue, I would definitely take time to talk to him about what's going on and why he feels the way he does. Take a weekend to really engage and listen to each other. Nothing is worth splitting a family apart. Sorry you're going through this love.

I say do everything you can to find out if there's a way you two can get over this rough patch before giving up
