Toddler moms... when did you start potty training? My daughter refuses and she's 2 turning 3 in October. I feel like kids younger than her are already potty trained and she's still in diapers.. HELP😓
She would start holding her business, tell me her tummy hurts (which meant she had to go number 2), she would follow me to the bathroom and sat "mom you're going potty in the big girl potty? Good job mom" and the other kids at daycare go to school & she always says she wants to go so we told her if you wanna go to school you have to go potty in the big girl potty.
@cassandrareyna14, she'll come around. I didn't force it and they did it on their own. She'll eventually start hating to have mess on her and want to take her diaper off as soon as she goes then you can introduce the potty again.
@brittneydmitchell, @michelleaaliyah, see and I'm afraid to force it and then she doesn't like it at all.. she's terrified of the toliet and won't sit on her little pot unless she has a diaper on.
@cassandrareyna14, mine would bring me diapers to change them, they didn't want to have it on them. They would try to tell me when they were going or before but usually not soon enough. They would sit on their little pot when I would be using the bathroom, watching and asking questions. I put panties on mine when I was home with them during the day on the weekends, sometimes they'd pee in them all day and didn't like it but eventually it worked. Just take her to the bathroom when you go if she wants to sit down too. I just didn't force it really. I'm one of those moms...
It's a rough few days lol but just stick her in underwear throughout the day and take her to the potty every 20 to 30 minutes she may have accidents but keep her in her wet undies for a few minutes my daughter didn't like it and eventually just started going by herself lol
I understand. I felt the same way. I kept hearing it from my mom. But I had to just ignore her and realize my daughter wasn't ready and when she is she'll jump on the big girl potty train. Don't let other women intimate you or tell you what you should be doing. You know your child better than anyone.
Each child is different. You'll see signs when they are ready. My daughter refused at that age. She would keep it for a day or so then just lose it. Until a few months ago she came into the bathroom and just started going potty on her own. Don't beat yourself up over it.
I'm easing into it now and she's about to be a yr and a half. your not alone my best friend's son is 3 he's refusing a lot too. she might be refusing cause it's new most kids are in a diaper before they are even nursed. a diaper is like a sense of security like a binky or a bottle. some kids are scared of the potty. I recommend looking up some potty training books. I'm reading "Oh crap it's potty training" out of the group of books it got the best reviews with the most people. almost 500 people gave it 5stars and it's rated 4.3 out of 5, I got it from amazon.
