Yesterday during practice one of the parents said to me "wow, you sure are strict with your son". I just smiled and kept on with practice. I noticed her watching him, the way he carries himself, and is so respectful towards everyone and has great manners. Then she says "well, I guess it pays off to be THAT strict". When no one was around I said, "look its not that I am 'that strict' like you said, I had him when I was 14, this is the way it HAS to be so he won't be another statistic. And yes it does pay off." All of a sudden she starts tearing up and gave me hug and said "if no one ever told you, you are doing a great job, i have a story to share but ill text you tomorrow" so today she texted me and said that she got pregnant at age 15 and gave her baby up for adoption and I reminded her of the mother she was so scared to be 😩💔. It broke my heart but it also made me feel that I am on the right track with my boys.
