So lately I've been worried about my milk supply decreasing and all of a sudden it went up! So usually I pump just enough for my baby to eat for the day. When we go to bed at night I'll have a 4 oz bottle in the fridge ready for the morning and then I'll pump after I feed him in the morning and continue throughout the day but like I said I was only producing just enough for him for the day. Well I'm super excited and happy because tonight I'll be going to bed with 17ounces in the fridge!!! And I'm actually going to do a quick pump session before I go to bed since I'm wide awake. So 17 ounces plus whatever I pump right now. I'll be going to sleep as one happy mommy!! 😊💙🍼

nice! I'm only pumping twice a day for 10 min each so far. did your amounts vary in the beginning? yesterday's am pump was double the previous (first) day, then today it was only half of yesterday (same as first.)

@nowmrspost, In the beginning I had a lot of milk. I've always had one breast that produces more. But the amount would vary but I would always get a lot. Then my milk started to regulate. In the beginning I was nursing him using the shield and then I would pump after I nursed him. I would get so much with only a couple pumps a day. I had a freezer stash going. Then once I started exclusively pumping I saw it start to decrease a little at a time to where I was only pumping enough for him for the day and sometimes I would barely get enough. I had to supplement formula a couple times when I didn't have enough milk. But now I'm starting to pump enough to where I can start freezing some again. So I'm pretty happy!

oh ok, sounds like it's normal to fluctuate. I'm just pumping for a night bottle right now and have more than enough, but was just curious since it's already changed

Yeah It's totally normal. I get more on some days than I do on others. But it's usually around the same amount. If you're nursing all the time and pump once in a while I'm pretty sure you'll always pump a pretty good amount since breastfeeding triggers the body to make more milk you're constantly making more. I would only pump after you nurse her though that way your pumping whatever's leftover that she didn't eat.

ah ok, that makes sense lol, also makes sense why they said pump for only 5 min and feed her on both sides each time so they're equal, I guess.
