Talk to a LC and hang in there. It gets better. You are both learning. Once the latch is good, it's better. My first week was awful. I had to feed him colostrum with a spoon and syringe. Once your milk comes in it will get easier and you can pump and have someone else give him a bottle to give you a break. Not ideal but that's what I needed to do. Also check to see if baby is tongue tied. That was one of my issues and having that fixed helped a lot.

Lansolin nipple cream really helps! It's a tough job but you got it girl. It gets better

If it hurts, the latch needs redirection. It doesn't hurt. Maybe your back but not your breasts

@cubanese, I have asked every nurse on every shift for help. They said she was latching fine but I've been trying to self express and nothing is coming out of either breast. Baby is inconsolable since 4pm and hasn't urinated. She was born 9:20 am yesterday. I am also in so much pain that when she does latch I cringe and have to close my eyes and breathe.
