My husband took us out to eat before going grocery shopping. As I'm sitting here feeding my daughter her own meal. I look around at the families surrounding me. I see a mother, daughter, father and son laughing, smiling and enjoying each others company. I see two elderly women talking laughing about their day. There is a couple in wheelchairs smiling talking to my daughter. I look beside me and see a mother, father and daughter who can't afford to buy everyone a meal. They shared two sandwiches. The daughter ate the ham and the parents ate the bread. My heart broke because I glanced at my daughter and she has a meal to herself and is so much smaller than this little girl eating ham. There are so many families that have so much less than us and it's heart breaking. Before I had the chance to get up and buy their child a proper meal they had left walking. All I can do is thank my husband for working so hard to provide for our family. He provides what we have, we may not have much but we are comfortable. We have a car to get places and not have our daughter in the cold, we have a place to lay our heads, we have food, our bills paid, and my daughter has clothing on her back. I am so grateful my daughter doesn't have to go without. I'm grateful she doesn't know how it feels to not have a meal. She knows she will be feed and that her small belly will be full everyday.
