Viability is at 22/23 weeks. Chances of a 26 weeker making it are 80-90%.

No problem. But you're fine. Baby would obviously be in NICU but he would be here! Think of it this way. Each day he stays in utero is a day not spend in the NICU.

@theirmommy20 thank you all for the info! this really helps me feel better. I still have another 2 weeks in here before I can go home, that's only if he stays in. I'm constantly worried. I'm just glad to have some reassurance he will be ok!!!

There was a 26w baby girl in the NICU bed next to my daughter, she was an amazing fighter... I could not believe how something so tiny could survive... but that girl thrived... turned out they later learned, the baby girl had Down syndrome, but she thrived and grew and kept all her doctors on their toes! She spent longer in the NICU than we did, but she was eventually strong enough to go home with her family! It was AMAZING to see such a tiny fighter! She had many things against her, but she over came it all!

my twins were born 24 weeks one passed away due to nec after 15 days but his twin brother his still in the nicu they both weighed 1 pound and 9 oz now he is 4pounds and 9 oz so dont worry your baby will be fine, but hope he stays in little longer if you have any questions im here@lnicole
