Can't buy the baby formula? Put the beers back. Can't buy diapers? Put the smokes back. Can't afford new shoes and clothes for your kids? Stop getting your hair and nails done. Stop buying all that makeup, your kids can't eat it. Can't afford dope? Don't sell your food stamps, they are to be used to feed your kids not your drug habit. When you become a parent it's okay to have fun. You're not expected to be miserable, but your kids should come first in every way. If this offended you, get your priorities straight. Kids don't ask to be born, you made that choice for them so put them first. Copy & paste if you agree.
no one is saying anything bad. it's simply I saw a post that made sense if it came down to getting my hair done or diapers I'd picked diapers that's what I'm saying. yes every mom should take time to take care of herself but you shouldn't spend the money that is meant for your children. meaning you have money that was suppose to be getting formula for your baby don't trade that for a pedicure. that's all I'm saying
@motherpurgatory yup @ajenkins612 this post isn't saying get your kids everything new it is say put them first I'm guilty of not taking care of myself no you don't have to get your kids everything new it's saying exactly what @mcrowell0970 said
@ajenkins612, nothing wrong with a mom taking care of herself. But there's everything wrong with a mom taking care of herself at the expense of her kids. My daughter shouldn't have to wear old shoes that hurt her feet just cause I want my hair to be done up. My newborn shouldn't have to stay in diapers longer than usual to "save" diapers so they'll last longer just cause I wanted that shirt I saw at Walmart and used my last $20 getting it. Don't make your kids sacrifice just so that you can still do what you want. I haven't gone to a concert in a very long time , cause if I had, I would have been scrounging up change for diapers for my oldest. Technically I could have made it work, but I refuse to just barely afford something for my kids just because I wanted to go have fun for a night. I could have easily spend about 10% as much as I would have simply ordering a take out meal from my favorite restaurant, or rented a movie and gotten my favorite junk food, or even gone to the dollar store and just picked some stuff up I thought was cool.
I'm not saying this is wrong cuz it's. it, BUT women should still take care of them selves, go get your hair done, your kid can rock those old shoes for 2 more weeks, to be a healthy mom you gotta still take care of yourself to a certain point, put the baby down go do your makeup, go soak in the bath for an hour. That's how PPD comes about is we as moms don't do things for ourself and revolve our entire life around our kids. I'm not saying dope and cigs but sometimes spoil yourself! Your still a human, not a robot. 😊
