I always feed my daughter until she spits it out. If I take it out before she's done she will be the devil for like the rest of the day. I was told by the nicu never to wake them and feed them until they are done

If he is still fussy and rooting after a bottle increase his milk by a little bit. Every baby is different and some require more(mine always did)

The first month or two their going to cluster feed because they're going thru lots of growth spurts. Every hour is normal

Maybe try less but more often. His stomach is smaller than a golf ball right now

When they feed a lot more often. A three week old doesn't need 5 oz. his stomach is the size of a grape which is probably an oz or two..

My son is 7weeks and eats 3/3.5 oz every 3-4hours feeding them too much can also cause them to get fussy due to excess gas or being too full. I'd try less formula if you're gonna feed him often so he doesn't get too full. Over feeding him may lead to him not knowing when he's hungry

Cluster feeding threw me for a loop the first time. We had her home got a day and she was acting like she was starving even tho she was on a strict schedule. Newborns arent known to overeat. Esp if they were in nicu. Good luck! And do what feels right. If your son asks for more then feed him
