So I have a 9 year old sister and she keeps my parents' house WRECKED. There is literally stuff everywhere. It makes us so worried to take Henry over there, because there are a lot of choking hazards. Well yesterday, my husband brought Henry to me and said: "Henry almost ate an earring." Without hesitation, my mom said: "A little baby from church swallowed a little Christmas ornament and the doctor didn't bat an eye, he said it was perfectly fine." Like, ARE YOU KIDDING ME. Does anyone else have to deal with stuff like this???? What do you do??
It makes me so nervous to let her watch him because she thinks it's okay for him to swallow stuff.

That's my first reaction @beebaby, but they live out of state and there's nowhere else for us to stay in order to visit them.

I agree 100% with @beebaby, That's not safe at all. My daughters have crap all over their room and my son is not allowed in there. They get mad but if they don't clean up he doesn't visit they're room. Same should happen at your parents place. Your sister is old enough to know better. If your parents allow her to do that then it's putting your baby in unsafe situations. You'd never forgive yourself if something did happen. I couldn't forgive anyone if it were me.

Yeah you're right @brownsugarluv, it's just that.. Saying that we can't let Henry be at their house means that we won't be able to see them. It would basically be cutting them out of his life.

Maybe you and hubby can take bins with you when you visit. Everything can be put in and when you leave you can offer to take it back out.
That's a crappy situation for everyone. But the baby is priority number one.
Is space an issue for your family's house? Or your sister just reign of the house? Not to be invasive but everyone's first best interest should be about baby.

No, space is not an issue... But literally the whole house is wrecked except for the rooms that we stay in. She definitely reigns the house @brownsugarluv.
