I believe it's if you get the epidural because you don't walk to the bathroom.

I didn't get a cath with my epi... I've had the same OB for the last 3 pregnancies and he never makes me get one. I absolutely hate them!

It's with the epidural because you can't get up and you have little control.

I got one without an epi or CSection because I was put on magnesium and in bed for 2 days prior... it was not exciting... but not the worst thing either... just sucked that I was stuck in bed
