What can I give my 4 month old for constipation?

1oz prune juice n 1oz water mixed together everyday until baby poops

Is that really ok for his little tummy? @stashinavy, I told his doctor the other day and she said its normal. But it's not normal for him he usually poops every other day. It's been almost a week and when he did go it was a small poop.

Yes it's fine anything with a p, so prune pear juice.

I just read not to give him prune juice if he's under 6 months old 😕 I just told his dad to see if he can get the consipation ease mommys bliss and see if that works. @yanald90,

Bliss stuff is myth stuff. Prunes is the stage one food group. I strived for "food before 1 is just for fun" and still was ok with prunes.

He's breastfed but I had been giving him formula at night time up until last week. And usually he poops every other day and he hasn't gone since Monday and it was s hard small poop. @yanald90,

Also I think that the bliss waters say in the back to not give under 6 mo? (Memory is fuzzy)

Water, give him water and watch his discomfort level /crying. Call doctor otherwise. they go through so many changes around 4 mo;

If he had a hard poo Monday he was then already constipated. Just call you doc for best suggestion for your son. If he is primarily breastfed it's pretty unusual to be so constipated for a baby because breast milk is about 75% water......if your son is crying/uncomfortable call now to your pediatrician. You can reach them any day and time :)

I told her this week when I saw her and she said its normal for breastfed babies. But he has always gone every other day for the most part up until I started giving him formula. But he barely takes it now@yanald90,

If your doc said it's fine than idk. Breastfed babies are never really constipated like I said due to high water content in milk

I had a sample of the mommys bliss constipation so I gave him just a tiny bit of that cause it said 6month plus but I figured just a little bit won't hurt him. And maybe it will move him along a little. I can hope. @yanald90,

Your worried about prunes but okay with not following herbal remedies for your baby ? Lol no disrespect butttttt confused. I've been really tried to give good advice

@missjess, it's what my doctor told me to give my daughter aaaallll the time n she usually goes. It's perfectly fine for him not to go too as long as his tummy isn't hard n he isn't crying uncomfortably
