Put Edith in her crib (in a separate room) for the first time last night. She's too long for her bassinet now. She didn't get to sleep till late but she slept about 7 hours straight! Yahoo!

did your hospital tell you it's recommended to have crib in your bedroom until 1 yr old? I thought it was 6 mos, but it just recently changed

No they didn't, but her pediatrician said not to keep her in the room even though it's a huge fad right now. He said keeping them in the room will make it harder to transition to sleeping on her own. We don't have room for a crib anyways in our room lol @nowmrspost,

Honestly the first month and a little after I said no to putting her in her crib already because well... she was so small for one and I liked having her close, and her cries were so quiet I don't think I would've heard them. But can definitely hear them now and we have a camera monitor so that puts me at ease. Pretty sure I woke up like 2 times last night confused though wondering where she was haha.
Why does the hospital say to keep the crib in the room? SIDS reasons?

I'm guessing bc sids reasons, the nurse who gave me my discharge papers told me about it, but just looked at them and didn't see that
