It's very quick your Dr. does it at your appointment. It's very painful though. But for me Labor started instantly within 30mins but for other mother moms it might take a few hours or days. You have to be dilating though for them to do it. I was 4cm 70%effaced when I got it done.

I did a lot of research on it before I decided to ask my DR. I think you should do the same to see if that is best for you
