Honestly people are taking this "Tree of life" thing too seriously. Its called the tree of life because a woman's mammary glands look like the roots of a tree. So i dont understand why mothers who bottle feed seem to be getting upset over it. Unless of course ladies are slapping Breast is Best in big bold letter everywhere. I get why that irritating. Now i have no issue with women who formula feed, I have to supplement with formula to make sure my son gets enough nourishment. So dont get offended thinking im hating on women who formula feed. Im a firm believer that as long as a child is fed, who gives a shit how it was fed. But im just trying to understand why this has turned into a pissing contest between formula and breastfeeding mothers. The tree of life thing is supposed to be a beautiful thing. A piece of art that also spreads awareness to help women and other become more comfortable with images of breastfeeding women. To normalize it. Formula feeding doesnt need to be normalized. Ive never heard of a woman getting harassed, spat on, or verbally or physically assaulted for bottle feeding a child in public. But that happens to breastfeeding mothers every day. Its happened to me 3 times already and my sons not even 3 months old yet! The tree of life photos are not meant to shame mothers who formula feed. And honestly i dont even see how theyd be offensive to a formula feeding mother in the first place. We should be supporting the women brave enough to share photos like that, not trying to one up them for little reason other than "they said breast is best" And yes i know that mothers who formula feed get shamed too. Especially by women who breastfeed. But its not about whats "right or wrong" here. Its about supporting your fellow mother whether she has different veiws and practices than you. Thats what this app was for! Support! Its not to be used to tear each other down and compete over stupid little things. People need to grow up and stop fighting over petty shit.

Im not saying women who formula feed shouldnt take the pictures like that at all. Just that they shouldnt be getting so upset at the breastfeeding women for it. Ive seen a lot of women here complain the past couple of days saying that we only do it for attention, or because we think were better than moms who formula feed. But i think it should just be a fun activity for all moms regardless of how you feed your child. Im just really not understanding WHY women are offended by the breastfeeding photos at all.

Thats exactly how I feel. We dont need to be hating on eachother when we already get so much hate from the general public that we dont need to be throwing it at eachother too. we need to support! Not tear down.

Honestly the tree of life pictures were a tribute to breastfeeding which does not involve bottle feeders ( if that's a word?? lol) feeding formula is already normalized. Women who formula feed should just support us instead of making it seem like the tree of life pics were to minimize formula feeding. Imo

thank youuuuu this is why women can never get along, always find something to be offended by not once have i seen anyone who breastfeeds on here say formula is disgusting or whatever...they always mention how fed is best regardless if theyre breastfeeding! people just want to be offended for no reason.
