So I changed my availability at work to Monday, Tuesday, and Friday nights for the month I am out of school. I usually do work Saturday days but I am not going to work an 8 hour shift and get off at midnight on fridays to come back at 10 am. I exclusively breastfeed and my child doesn't take a bottle. That will fuck everything up. So why is my boss scheduling me on Saturdays still when Saturday is blocked off on my availability for this month off of school. Oh, not to mention it's Christmas Eve I am supposed to be working and I have a family gathering to go to and it's my child's first fucking Christmas. I'm not coming in, they can kiss my ass. Who goes out to eat on Christmas Eve anyway?! During the day?! Nobody and we have 3 more servers than normal. It's just ridiculous.

Same thing happened to me for thanksgiving. I told them they could give it to me off or I would call out. I'm not going to let other people enjoy my sons first holidays without me. Luckily my boss is cool and worked their schedules around mine

I would most definitely bring it up asap. The fact that you have it in writing is enough to prove your point.
They're probably making sure they have enough staff just in case. I don't know where you work but there are people who eat out on the holiday. As crazy as it sounds lol.

Yeah my boss is not that nice. She usually lets people with kids have those type of holidays off. The majority of people who work there don't have children, so I'm just confused as to why she has to be so mean. I'd say she's doing it to staff accordingly but we are extremely slow on Saturdays. We need maybe 5-6 servers and we are getting 10 servers to where we d not even have enough tables to wait on to make more than 10-20$. Our restaurant is not that big, and they do it purposefully. I personally don't even think we should be open on Christmas Eve at all. We close at 4 but what's the point in being open 6 hours? Just to waste our time. They may lose a couple hundred dollar in business but they are also going to lose about double that in labor, so I personally just think it's stupid. Lol and being that it's my child's first Christmas, I am not missing a thing. Plus anyone who'd be babysitting is going to be cooking and getting ready for our party, so nobody is going to have time to babysit anyway.

I completely agree with you. These places should be closed. I know some people like to eat out but it's not fair to those who have no choice but to work.
