Not sure I have an answer but I've heard from most places that although their own routine emerges over time, within the first 4 months there so much changing going on and then the 4 month sleep regression, that there's no point stressing about that till after 4 months. My LO is 12 weeks and he has a very set pattern. 1 1/2 hours awake and then nap, breastfeed on demand. However sometimes we've had steady naps of 30/45 mins. Sometimes 2 hours. And sometimes 10 mins. It keeps changing up on me. I can see he's developmentally changing and part of that even is he's getting better at sleeping, so I'm trying TRYING (I usually fail) not to stress too much about routine.
I didn't have a proper routine with my daughter until she was nearly 4 months. We lived with family and it was hard as we had to work around them but as soon as we moved into our own home we got a routine :)
My little boy is 9 weeks and he's just out himself into a routine, I just fed him when he wanted it and slept when he wanted too which Is in a routine of bed at 10:00pm till 7:00am sometimes sleeps straight through too 10:00am it's brilliant :) I just let my little do what he wanted xx
Hey my lil boys 14 weeks on Sat. I never aimed to get him into a routine but he kinda done it on his own. Until he was about 5/6 weeks he would go to sleep about 11:30 have his last bottle at 11 sleep through till 2 wake up for a bottle then wake up about 4/5 for another bottle then go back to sleep. Then he started to go to sleep at 10/10:30 and sleeps through till 6/7 and so far that's been his routine xx
