I get so upset while trying to breastfeed. Like I don't get upset with Waylon but more discouraged. He has latched on maybe a handful of times. But today he refuses to latch on. I try and I keep trying for 30 minutes or more but he doesn't want it. I've tried adding breast milk and formula into the nipple shield before I put it on. He will drink that and then break the latch. Does any mamas have any tips for me so that I don't get so overwhelmed while trying to get him to latch? I just feel helpless cause I really want to breastfeed and I'm afraid he's not going to.

I agree with @beebaby, If he is already hungry or mad, he will be too frustrated and impatient to nurse. Try whenever he is relaxed or after he has drank a little from a bottle. Good luck momma!💕

I have, but just gets really agitated that its there and he cant get it or something. @beebaby @mommy_faith

yes @mmam91 but i have flat nipples, so he of course wont latch :(

you can try stimulating ur nipples before to get them to pop out either with a pump or whatever works best for you...i had the same problem and once I stopped using the shield my daughter latched on and stayed. we're going on 7 months now:) good luck @randaroo

ive tried using the pump to stimulate them, but ive only tried once, so maybe ill try it again. hopefully he will learn soon.
