I've been on an antidepressant for about 9 years. just found out I'm pregnant about a week ago and stopped them, I took one everyother day for a few days but haven't had one in acouple days. I go see my Dr on Tues but these mood swings are killing me. I'm either pissed or I'm crying hysterically. There is no in between. what's everyone's thoughts on antidepressants while pregnant? I take citalopram 40mlg. are these typical pregnancy mood swings or because I'm off my happy pills? I'm going crazy!!!!

Your doc might be able to prescribe you one that is safe during pregnancy

My doctor put me on a antidepressant too but I choose not to take them while I'm pregnant becuz I just don't want my baby to have that in its system. it's going to be tough not taking them and the mood swings ate going to be hard to get through but ypu have to find another outlet i started writing a journal to my baby to try and cope I talk to my baby or try yoga I hear that's the perfect way to keep calm and also helps with delivery later on. but it's really your choice my doctor says it's ok to take them while ur pregnant I believe it. but just don't want to pass anything on to my baby kinda superstitious I guess u could say.
