I had mine last Friday and @valrocks is right WEAR THE BINDER. don't skip meds either. I though I could and super suffered for it. they're gonna have you shower about 24 hours afterwards, don't hesitate to accept help. the movement and walking in the few days after will be hard but will definitely get easier. it was not as bad as I was told it was gonna be either, everyone always has horror stories about it but it will heal up good if you follow docs orders. good luck!
I had one in May. I was super emotional about it because i had heard horror stories about it but after it wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting. The most imputing that I learned was that they give you a belly binder, wear it 24/7. I only took it off to shower for he whole first month. It was the only thing that made it better. And don't try to be tough and skip your pain meds. They didn't even give me anything They told me to take Advil. I took 3 every 4-6 hours for 3-4 days.
