okay so birth story,

so dec 1, at 7:30 pm I went into the hospital to be induced at 8 pm. my father in law was on his way to pick my husband up so my mom took me. We got to the hospital, parked and all. Went inside & got situated in my room. Originally I was supposed to go in and get my cervix thinned the rest of the way out first, but I had been leaking fluid since around 3 am so they tested it to make sure it was fluid, turns out it was so they decided to start pitocin right away rather than giving me the med to soften my cervix. (I was already 80% effaced). He said it should finish during the contractions because we didn't have time to wait on that. So around 9:30 they started pitocin, I went though the contractions until about 6 am. My doctor checked me, & I was still only dilated a 2(I went in at a 1). They told me if I wanted to get an epidural I needed to let them know now cause I was in a line so I said I did, and by time they came it was about 8 am, I was at a 3. My doctor then put a catheter up there to add more fluid to the baby because his heart rate was dropping, so they stopped the pitocin to see if my labor would pick up on its own. It didn't, and At this point, I was fed up with the pain, I had only dilated 2 more cm since 9:30 the night before & it was horrible. My doctor told me the next time he comes back to check me, we might have to consider a c section. At noon my doctor came back to check me again and I was at a 4. We started talking about doing a c section, and why it would be best. Since my water had been broke for so long, I wasn't progressing fast enough , or without the pitocin and the it was only putting my baby in distress and his heart rate dropped again after they started the pitocin back up & he said after it happened the first time if it happened again, then we'd do a c section, he asked me how I felt about that & I agreed. So he left and a nurse told me they had the spot at 1:30 open for me. The anesthesiologist came in at about 1 and started more medicine in the epidural line or whatever they call it. I already couldn't feel my legs but he said he had to make it to where I couldn't feel my stomach and back either. I ended up reacting really well go this medicine I guess because it also numbed all the way up to my boobs. So I was completely numb & couldn't feel a thing. They rolled me into the OR with my mom(my husband was still on his way back from flagstaff from being released). Since everyone knows what happens after that, & there isn't much to tell, my son was born on December 2 , at 2:12 pm. weighing 7 pounds 5 oz , 20 inches long. Hearing him for the first time was amazing, my heart was and is so full. I had a long labor(maybe not compared to some people), but I'd do it all over again💙💙😇
