How often is it normal for newborns to feed? Mine is a bit all over the place,she last fed at around 6am although was feeding pretty much every hour throughout the night. All she now wants to do is sleep. Midwife told me that they will wake up when they want feeding but I'm worried she is sleeping for too long 🙈. She is fine within herself n has been having normal nappies.

If she took milk ever hour last night it sounds like she's topped herself up. In the first week is when they panic about not feeding (even though some babies just have different patterns). Sounds like her routine is back to from at the moment but she will probably sort herself out when it comes to recognising day and night. Xx

i think u should wake her up n feed her i wAs told by hv and hospital to feed every 3 to 4 hours from newborn

if your breastfeeding then just do it on demand X the nights are so hard because Evelyn used to wake Evey hour for a feed but she would be the same during the day X she wil wake if she's hungry X

They vary to be honest. Morgan was roughly 3-4hrs but Max was 2hrs sometimes less. I used to wake Morgan when he was a newborn as he'd sleep for ages then thought no. He'll wake when he's hungry. Sleep is just as important as feeding. So I've never woken Max. I don't think there's any need to wake after 3 or 4hrs but that's just me.
