Can I use quorn meat instead of normal meat in Albies food? He's been weaning for about 2.5 /3 months but only on fruit and veg he's now 6 months and I know it's time to start adding meat but I'm not eating meat anymore and I'm in two minds about giving it to him and I've never heard of anyone use it in baby weaning or seen it in any of my baby cook books surely it should be ok but want to know if anyone has done this?

My son is allergic to quorn so that's one thing I'd obviously leave out but that's the only reason I can think of for not giving it to him. Obviously if you're going to go down the vegetarian diet with him you need to make sure that the goodness he would benefit from a non vegetarian diet would be substituted in another way.

Quorn is fungus...so yeah children can be allergic to mushrooms...But if you want him not to eat meat...then how about just fish? You can be allergic to that too...Maybe try both and see how it goes. The longer you leave something to try out....the more likely they'll develop an allergy towards it :) I'm not a meat fan myself.....and said I would only be feeding Maya fish....but she has the odd meat now and again (spaghetti Bol..) never thought about quorn until you mentioned it xx

@mummyoffour, @winterbaby95 I don't mind giving him meat my OH eats it but this week im trying to cut it out myself I just don't wanna buy like loads of it and then it go to waste he's ready for it im just in two minds about it I love fish myself but not sure if his little tummy is ready for it yet x

Harry always has Quorn at nursery, and he has 4 helpings 😂 give him what you want chick. xx
