Is the nipple shield supposed to suction to my breast? Because sometimes it lays flat against me and sometimes it kinda pops back out and lays against my son's face. It doesn't seem to bother him. But I'm wondering if there's something wrong with it.

That's how it was while I used it. I just pushed it back onto my breast or held it there with my fingers. It's fine

@bonniesue, are there any negatives to using nipple shields?

I've heard of using a lil coconut oil around the outside of it to help suction to your breast?

Some women will say it can decrease supply but my son wouldn't have been able to nurse at all without it. My son got off it completely a little under 3 months. He learned how to latch. It helped my nipples enlongate and we are successfully breastfeeding still.

I don't know from experience tho, either saw it on here or on some blog about nipple shields when I was researching. let me know if it helps
