@tunah83, oh yes.. she went almost two days and I bought children suppository used very tiny piece and voila. Doc suggested and it worked. she is now 6 weeks old and I switched her formula 3x. She is currently drinking Enfamil A+ the purple one.. Breaks down the iron so less constipation.

I am breastfeeding.

I am confused as to why a doctor would suggest a breastfeeding mom start feeding formula to her lil one. Is this YOUR doctor or your lil one's doctor? I'd try the suppository like @starting_over39 before taking the lil one off breastmilk. I'd also get a second opinion.

If your breastfeeding I wouldn't stop, my baby had the same issue we brought her to the midwife and she said some breastfed babies won't go for up to 10 days, if it's really bothering your baby and her tummy is hard to the touch you can take a Q-tip and apply Vaseline and slowly insert it in baby's bum she should go almost if not right away or like @starting_over39 said you can try suppositories and @tlistboom is also right I would get another opinion dr shouldn't advise formula unless u absolutely can not breastfeed @tunah83

@tunah83, I agree with @sashie and @tlistboom. Get a second opinion for sure and try and find a pediatrician. Are you only breastfeeding or are you also giving her formula. If could also be from what you eat as well if strictly breast feeding.
