I need some help! Harrison's been very unsettled today, I thought he might be a bit constipated as he hasn't gone in a few days. But then he managed to do a big poo. Then in the evening he woke up from his nap screaming very high pitched and looks like he's in pain. It sort of comes and goes but he's very hard to settle. I gave him calpol at 6.30pm and he slept till 9pm when he started screaming again. I gave him a bath and it settled him but now he's irritated again. He hasn't got a temperature or any other signs of being unwell. He's teething but he's never this bad and there's no signs of him cutting teeth. He's been drinking most of his bottle all day apart from his last feed it was hard to get him to drink because he was crying but managed to get it all down. I don't know what to do or what could be causing this. Anyone experienced anything similar?

How old is he? Only reason I ask is calpol should only be used under 3 months the odd dose for vaccinations as a doctor should really calculate the exact dosing when there so little. They won't even give calpol to my near 6 week old and she's been in hospital a week. Unless she gets a temperature

He's 3 months next week @suzie80 it says it can be used 2+ months. I was reluctant to give it to him but it did seem to help for a few hours. I just hate seeing him in pain. I don't think it's colic as he's had it before and it was different. @chesscalouise2 he's on comfort formula as he was bad with constipation when he was born.

MYbe he is coming down with a bug then Hun. I didn't know how old he was as your profile just says 2 months lol. There's so much going round ATM

Call 111 if the random screaming crying persists. They'll be able to advise you better. He's so young. My LO is nearly 3 months I don't think I'd know what to do if he was randomly crying out in pain. As mentioned above calpol at this age is only for temperatures and 2 doses max a day.

@suzie80, @noshinxoxo he slept all night and seems so much better this morning. Just going to keep an eye on him today but hopefully whatever it was he slept it off. xx
