My mom is so unbelievable ..I do not talk to this lady bc she has psychological problems and always has treated me and my sister like we are trash to her. So rude and disrespectful to me and IM THE ONE THAT BENDS OVER BACKWARDS FOR HER, give her money, buy my brother and sisters school clothes, and shoes, GIVE her money for her car and whatever else she says she needs it for. I say GIVE bc I never ask for it back....She has never been beneficial or a mother to me, she would rather chase men, and hang out instead of tending to us.
I was forced to live with her after my grandparents got sick, my grandma died of cancer and my grandad had a stroke and couldn't use his left side. At that time I was 9 and I didn't have anyone else. Why was I even staying with them? Bc she was married to my sisters dad and I feel like she didn't really want me there but my sister stayed with her and her dad. But over this summer I said enough was enough and I cut the cord and stopped dealing with her bc I was constantly telling her how to talk to me! She's quick to say something nasty to me but won't open her mouth to other people when they don't do what she want. But if it's me she's saying something fucked up and I'm the one that helps her with EVERYTHING! So I stopped. I have my own son on the way. And i cut her and everyone in her household OFF. So she texts me (I just recently unblocked her) and asks me to
Do things. There is no how are you? How is the baby? It's more like "can I use your car?" "Can you get your brother and sister from school my car is broken?" And the crazy thing is after she was diagnosed with breast cancer she STILL DIDNT CHANGE ..still rude and nasty. I wish so badly I just had a diff mom but then again she taught me what NOT to do. It sucks my son won't have a grandma the way I did because I loved my granny til death!!! Literally Lol . I say by her bedside everyday and I would read to her, help the nurse bathe her. And I would comb her wing(she had cancer so her hair fell out) and I want the same for my son but oh well he has his mommy and daddy and his Nannie on his dads side and amazing people that are waiting for him! Who needs her bitter crazy ass

Exactly you will know what*not to do and be a real mother*My mom isn't motherly or grandmotherly which i sort of understand her parent's died when she was 12yrs old 3 months and a day apart. She isn't a bad person but..has her own issues.I am very close with my 2 sons no matter how old they are.(they are 13 yrs old &21;) started young

@shereynygirl, smh my mom is the same way. She didn't live with her mom for whatever reason but why would u want your daughter(S) to go through the same thing and why not change. Everything that she's don't I've tried to do the opposite and it works for me! And I will do the same thing you do, be close as hell with my kids! They are all you have and you're all they have

aww.. I feel for you, my mother ND I didn't have a good relationship... she'd choose booze and men over us kids... she would let men have their way with us as long as she got her fix. later in adult hood I tried to have some type of relationship with her. it didn't work out well, she still say fucked up shit to me. she said one time that I need to quit thinking I'm better than her, that I'm just like her. I told her I wasn't like her and the reason I didn't have kids yet is bc I was afraid I'd be a fucked up mom like her. she said that's right u aren't like me that's why I gave you away. in reality the state took us all away from her. last convo I had with her was something like... fuck you...fuck you too.. I fucking hate you. that was back in March. she ending up dying in May, she didn't have a clue I was pregnant. to top all that off I had to be the one in charge of all her arrangements. I feel bad that I have to live with the hate for her in my heart until the day I die.

only thing she taught me is what not to do and how not to be

exactly.i am grateful to have had an amazing dad until the day he passed away he loved to spend time with my 2 sons and myself.I am 1 of 3 daughter's..so my dad always did things for us a mom should've done.take us shopping haircuts.lunches.he worked 6 days.long hrs every week.while my mom stayed home and as we got older he called daily. Not everyone is meant to be a parent. Just remember some people including our parent's have issues they don't deal with correctly and it effects their life so of course we feel it too.Wishing you a great pregnancy and just the fact you acknowledge YOU want to be a better mother like your Grandparents you were lucky to have and see what family does ❤

@dawnrose, that's awful ..smh I can believe it all though my mom had men around us that she was dealing with..what if they would've came in me and my sisters room and tried something? She wouldn't know or care. I can't believe she knew that was happening to you though and didn't do anything!!!!! And I'm the same as you I tried to over look some stuff my mom did but it just built up and I couldn't take it. She's been saying and doing messed up stuff until I didn't allow it anymore and my worse fear is she passes away without us coming to an understanding on why I am the way I am towards her. Bc I don't know if I could live with it

Your dad was like super man to you girls!! That's nice! My dad died a few months before I was born but I did get social security from him since he was in the navy. Asked me where all of that money went. TO her and what she wanted to do. But you're right not everyone is meant to be a parent and I am lucky to have came up in the house with my grandparents when I had the chance. Some of the things my grandma did I catch myself doing now for my SO! I always smile bc I know where it comes from! @sherrynygirl

Yeah addiction is a serious disease, I spent many years in counseling and treatments to help deal with my childhood... even as an adult I seeked treatment and extra help. my sister on the other hand has been addicted to drugs since she was about 16 in and out of prison. it's tough seeing her go down the same road as our mom did. when my mom died I never cried so hard knowing that how it ended between us was it. that was the end, no more talks trying to make things work, no apologies no nothing but a void.

@dawnrose, girl even after hearing your story I still can't bring myself to resolve anything with my mom I've tried for so damn long

you know it isn't funny but I can't help but to laugh, because if my mom didn't die, I don't think nothing would change anyway... TBH I was over it and was preparing for her death for years before it happened. I think I just feel bad for myself now than anything
