The strength it takes to be a single mother is unreal. Coming from a single mother who drives hours every day back and forth to school, overloaded with assignments, starving half to death because she doesn't have time to eat, working as a waitress when she can, surviving simply off of 50-60$ a week and her savings, taking care of her child alone, waking up with her child countless times a night since birth alone, exclusively breastfeeding, too busy for friends, a relationship, or a life outside of baby, school, and work. Dealing with a baby who is constantly sick, with no help and trying to ace tests but haven't slept in days and being so delusional you can't remember anything anyway, that is the life of a single mother. I'm so exhausted, I haven't slept in forever, I forgot to take a shower for 3 days, I'm depressed and anxious because my son is having such a rough time and it's killing me trying to do everything. He has had diarrhea nonstop, has a horrible cough, fever of 100.6, runny nose, red eyes, had a a horrific fix rash a few days ago and had a double ear infection right before that. I just don't know why this happens to us! This is also the week of my finals, and my grandmother (his babysitters) 3rd week of radiation and I've had to scramble to find someone else to babysit so she won't be overwhelmed. I just want to cry.
