I have a breastfeeding question.
I have a breastfeeding question.
My 3 week old seems to be fussy/want to nurse every 10-15 minutes when I breastfeed her. I gave her a bottle last night because I had no breast milk and she was hungry. She slept almost 7 hours. And today same thing, she had a bottle (4oz) then slept for about 4 hours and when she woke up she was content and is just now ready to eat again (bottle around 10, its 4 now)
Is she not getting enough from me?? When she's done breastfeeding there's still milk in her mouth, and she's having tons of wet diapers and poops btw

If she's having enough wet diapers your making enough milk sounds like shes cluster feeding. there's a great photo shows something along the lines of 'Thinking baby isnt getting enough, gives formula baby sleeps longer stretches from being too full, then nurses less which leads of course to lower milk production' @cubanese do you have the photos to show this momma? I can't seem to find them

4 oz is not always too much. my son was a nicu baby full term. when he was finally able to eat without a feeding tube (about 4 days) they put him on 3 oz every four hours and he was not satisfied. so they did 3 oz every 3 hours. stoll nor satisfied. he ended up taking 4 oz every three hours and they said some babies just eat different and they were ok with that. as long as your baby is having six wet diapers, I wouldn't be too concerned. if you're worried about dehydration call your dr.

My baby eats 3-4 oz at a time about every 3-4 hours. During the day he will eat less in shorter periods sometimes like 2-3 oz every 2-3 hours. He also sleeps pretty good at night 5-6 hours.
