You should really look up the life threatening effects it could have on your baby, if you're considering it as a way to induce. I'm sure being 40wks is MISERABLE but castor oil is really bad. It could make your baby have a bowel movement in the womb and if ingested it is extremely harmful and could even cause death.
some doctors say you can try it, I've heard so so so many people it works for. I really wanted to try it but I'm getting induced this up coming week. so I'm gonna hold up on it. it worked for my sisters. & if you look it up, it says if you take the recommended amount, a tablespoon or two. not a lot of it & you'll be fine. have you tried a really really hot bath? like as hot as you can stand? it broke my moms water with every one of her kids (she has 4). she swears by it, it didn't work for me but you could always try that :)
well I had a bowel movement in my mothers womb and it had nothing to do with castor oil. talk to your OB about it, I think you'll be fine.
@babymay2016 if you feel that passionate about it then don't use it lol.. but don't make her feel bad about wanting to. OMG the way you worded that was horrible and judgmental.
@ltsdiaries, I'm not here to sugar coat things. If that is the way I came across, then that's fine. I seriously cannot begin to understand why anyone would take that chance. Most people would say "Oh shit, I didn't know that. I'm not gonna put my baby's life in danger" but people in the past used castor oil to abort their babies on purpose. There is no good reason to do that. I HIGHLY doubt that ANY doctor in this day and age would suggest that. Knowingly putting your babies life in danger is selfish and if I made anyone feel bad here, good.
@babymay2016, my cousins doctor recommended it, she just had her baby less than a year ago. She only used a teaspoon or something of it. I haven't decided if I'm going to do it or not.....I'll discuss it with my doctor first as well. Some doctors recommend it and some don't, all opinion based, really. Same for having wine late in pregnancy. Some will say it's harmful to baby, some say it's beneficial.
And I could really, honestly, care less about people's opinions. I didn't ask for an opinion on it....I asked where to buy it. I figured I'd get some backlash AND some encouragement about it. Doesn't hurt my feelings either way.
@katiemomma2be yah I'm gonna talk to her Monday to see what she says about that and/or castor oil. I think she may already be planning the membrane thing for Monday, I dunno! They'll schedule me for induction thurs if nothing happens!!!
Yes it's by the laxatives. I just got the cvs brand. I didn't have any signs of labor no Braxton hicks or anything. Took some of that and boom my water broke lol and nothing was wrong with my son.

I seriously cannot fathom how people can know about that, and still do that. That's disgusting honestly.

Because his heart rate wasn't where they wanted it. It was like 111 and they wanted it 115 or 116 .
