Yep they are have you checked paint prices lately by the time u buy all the stuff u spend more than just hiring someone and professionals should be fast
@dabcw3814, indoor or outdoor also how big is ur home? What brand of paint do they use? One gal these days run from 35-65 dollars depending on the brand 5gal are up to 200.00 2k sounds reasonable do u have lot of trim work. We have a ton 3pc crown in main areas they charged us over 5k to do just our trim then we opted to paint the walls bc we wanted several colors. I wouldn't do the walls again I would just let them bc it's not worth the time verses cost. We need to get a bid for outdoor but we don't have much to be painted outside
Indoor. Not a big home. He quoted us on ceilings, walls and molding for 3 small bedrooms 1.5 bathrooms and a living/dining area. We would be supplying the paint. We would need at least 5 gallons of Behr Marquee paint (what he recommended) and all painting supplies as well. @txyogagirl. It's a rental, not our property.... we didn't anticipate having to paint. It wasn't until we saw the place empty that we saw all the imperfections bc the other tenants had so much clutter. We also now have to purchase a new stove (we didn't plan on it), a washer and dryer, a new dead bolt for the front door. I am obviously 8 months pregnant about to be out of work for 7 weeks and my father is dying of cancer (other reason why we are moving, to be with him and my mom). It's just not an expense we can afford at this point so the only other alternative is to do it ourselves. Which will obviously take longer and not come out as good but is way more budget friendly. We have a family friend coming to look today. Hopefully he gives us some good news.
O goodness well most professional painters use Shermin Williams paint and supply it. It's the best paint around. Behr is good too but it's a homeowner grade paint. I used behr on my bathrooms and a single wall in my sons nursery but Shermin Williams top quality. That's crazy if u still have to buy all the tape and brushes he sounds like handyman not a painter I bet that can be frustrating bc ur 8m preg well wear a mask and be careful the blue tape and quality brushes r expensive well to save time u may be better buying the throw away brushes to save time and money that's what I do for touch ups in my home I'm a stickler for messed up paint or a mark on the wall.
