i've had around 20growth scans lord knows why as always everything seems fine.lol they just neasure baby's head, tummy, legs have a look at the the heart beat and blood flow from placenta, how much fluid is around the baby and yeah that's pretty much it. they take about 5-10mins xx

most hospital trusts only do 2 scans (nuchal scan which is 1st dating scan around 12wks and anomaly which is checking bone and heart structure etc around 20wks) my trust (where I work not delivering UCLH) used to do a 3rd growth scan but as 99% were unnecessary to save money we only get now if midwife thought necessary.
Nothing really to worry about you might just be measuring small xx

don't worry it's nothing to be panic about hunny.😊 I been there twice cos my midwife measured me wrong first she told me my baby is measured bigger than he should and send me for a scan and everything came out fine the baby is growing how he should and then on my another appointment she told me baby didn't grow at all and send me again and they told me that baby is growing good and on my last midwife appointment was 36 weeks one she told me that baby measured just fine so don't worry. xx

I've had growth scans since I was about 29 weeks every two weeks, currently at my last one to the be told the date I'm going to be induced. They're nothing to worry about, just check the babies size is right and they are growing proportionally etc. :) I've been told my daughter is a little bit smaller than should be, but nothing to worry about. So all is good. :) xx

@happychamp16, I've had them throughout my pregnancy due to me being bigger and it being a riskier pregnancy due to losing two babies last year, nothing to worry about hun..they just look at all the bits (arms, head, stomach etc) and take measurements to make sure you're on the right track, don't know if it's the same at your hospital but I got a copy of the scan picture each time I was there and had my first scan at 2-3 weeks (needed to have early scans cause of this being a high risk pregnancy) so I've got a nice wee collection of the baby getting bigger and bigger at each one :) xx

I've had growth scans with my other two pregnancies and having them with this one too at 28 and 32 weeks. They just measure the baby and check the placenta and that the cord is getting everything to the baby properly and growth is progressing as it should. I have low BMI so that's why I have to have them: first baby was 6lbs 4oz 3 days late and second baby was 6lbs 15oz 2 days late. Xx
