Post partum mama's quick question.. which form of contraceptive will you be using? Normally I would have opted for the pills but seeing I was diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism in left lower lung during pregnancy the pill is out of the option ( can cause clotting). Never tried the other methods on the market. Heard of Depo injections, IUD, female condoms etc.. 6 week appointment coming up so just looking for y'all personal experience with any of those mentioned etc. 😉

I do not recommended the depo..everybody is different and reacts to it differently but don't do it.

@firsttimemommy704, is it beacuse of weight gain or something else? I have no idea the side effects of these contraceptives. I just didn't want to tie my tubes.

rapid weight gain. first two months had two week long heavy heavy periods and cramping for a week prior to the two weeks of period. headaches omg it was horrible

and there's pain in the injection site
I know of one person who had a good experience with it and that's it
and it takes months for your body to get back to its regular cycle and everything once you stop it

no problem. at least the IUD is long term with fewer sider effects and you and hubby can enjoy condom free sex without worry.

I also don't recommend the depo, I gained a crap ton of weight really fast and it totally messed with my mental state. I was on it for 6 months and once I went off everything went back to normal and then I had to ditch the weight. And then you're also supposed to have regular bone density checks with it because it affects that over time. If I were you with the situation of not being able to take pills I'd probably go for the iud.

Or I have a few girlfriends on the Nuva Ring and they love them so that could be something to look into.
