Opinions on an epidural? What was your experience with or without one?

I had an epidural, they missed the spot and made my left leg numb for almost 24 hours lol. It was terrible. But then again, I didn't feel the pain of birth

I didn't have an epidural because I heard too many horror stories of it not working or causing permanent back pain or permanent numbing. I almost think the side effects of the epidural are worse than the pain of giving birth

My experience wasn't the best lol by the time they gave it to me I was pushing 30 minutes later. My right leg was a little numb for maybe 10-20 minutes and was able to walk a little after having the baby so it didn't work 🙈I don't think I'm gonna get an epidural this time around

I don't want one because I've heard of all those stories I worked with a girl who had permanent back pain and anything she did wouldn't make it stop hurting! So I figure me hurting for a couple of hours is better then hurting my entire life!

But I just want some opinions!

I had to have a spinal cause of my c section but if i could have a natural birth I would do IV meds instead. The spinal messed my back up so bad & I get paralyzed at least twice a year from it

i had one and I loved it

i loved mine and it didnt leave any damage just occasional pain in the spot i had it in if i do entirely too much

I had one! I loved it, it made giving birth so much easier for me

I got one and it was great. Didnt feel it getting done. My lower body was almost numb but could still move around in bed. When I gave birth it didn't hurt at all. Soon after I gained almost all feeling back and was walking around. I felt some soreness on an off for a few weeks. But it was so minor I did not notice much.

I'm gonna hold off on it as long as possible. Because I don't want one. There's to many complications that could happen! And I don't wanna risk it! Thank y'all for all commenting I needed some insight!

I got mine when I was 6 cm didn't hurt one bit everything was numb I think it was the best cuz does contractions are no joke

don't believe all the stories u here if u ask ur doctor they will tell u the same thing .. they said u will have back pain that's the side effects buhh since I got it haven't had any problems buhh every body is different jus follow ur heart n gut

I had one with my first baby (coulsnt feel not one thing lol) but not getting one for this baby. please pray I make it thru the contractions and birth lol
