I'm on month 15
Sara·
Starting IUI in January. So I feel your pain
Amber·
@mrsfrantz85, what's IUI?
Sara·
Intrauterine insemination. It's a process where they put a catheter up there with my hubby's sperm to guarantee it gets to the egg
Amber·
:o maybe I could try that.. does insurance cover that? @mrsfrantz85
Sara·
@aaaamber_, unfortunately, no. Anything fertility related is out of pocket
Amber·
oh ok. @mrsfrantz85 thank you :)
Bonnie·
totally depends on your insurance. call them and ask. most do cover a few things. for example mine covers everything except ivf.
Amber·
what's ivf? @barbiebonbon sorry I haven't had to much info on insurance & stuff yet.
Bonnie·
no worries. I've never done it and probably won't because of the out of pocket cost but I'm pretty sure its when they take an egg from you and a swimmer from him. fertilize the egg under a miscrope and then put the egg in your uterus. they usually will put in more than one. that is how these women were having like 6 babies at once. but most doctors only do like 2 or 3 at a time. have you heard of test tube baby? this is where the saying came from. @_aaamber_
Amber·
@barbiebonbon, oh ok that makes sense then. I bet that's super expensive lol
Bonnie·
yeah it is. I've heard its around 10k per attempt but im sure it varies from dr to dr @_aaamber_
