Definitely not normal I would get it checked. Pediatricians normally clean it up and add some medication for it to heal. My baby lost his at 6 days old and still had some flesh so she put some medication on it and it healed very nice.
I would just get it checked. I was very nervouse to touch it and clean it up so I asked his pediatrician to take a look at it and she cleaned it and put the medication but it looked way better than both of them. His just had pink flesh these look look infected and the skin around it looks a bit red. @lumos.nox

Hmmm I'd get it looked at. Looks infected. Maybe call one of the nurses to make sure before scheduling an appt

It just needs some silver nitrate and it'll be just fine ! My sons fell off very shortly after leaving the hospital!

@lumos.nox, my sons didn't look like that at all. So it doesn't look normal to me. I'd just get it checked to make sure.
