soooo worried right now. in tears.
ive got a letter from the hospital that i have gestational diabetes.
what does that mean for me?
what should i expect?
feel really scared now.
thanks @oliviafaye and @mummagordon.
i would rather not go on meds as i rather not take them myself and i hate needles so not sure how i am going to cope with this.
it's not always down to what you eat. it's the baby taking away too much glucose from you. this is the second time iv suffered with it. and after seeing a dietican the first time and having a strict diet plan in place and following it, my blood sugars just kept getting worse. I ended up on insulin with my daughter, and now on insulin with this baby. don't worry at all, they really do look after you. and like my diabetic nurse was saying last week, it's a silly hormone in your body and every woman reacts to it differently. I tried my best not being on insulin with my daughter, but nothing worked, so this time, they just put me straight onto insulin as they no my body can't fight it. instead of having chocolate or a cake for after your tea, swap it with a yoghurt. That's what I do now. instead of having sugary cereal, have shredded wheat, as that's what they told me to have. instead of white bread, have brown bread. drink plenty of water and sugar free drinks, no fizzy pop. if you need to chat becsuse your so worried, drop me a message, but you will be completely fine. xx @sinlou93

@ss6615, try not to worry,it is alright I had it through pregnancy and was on metformin tablets to control my sugar levels and I was Induced at 38 weeks and 1 day my daughter come at 38 weeks and 3 days via emergency c section
really dont worry hun. they can sometimes control it with diet. if not they try tablets first before they go to insulin... ive had it both and as long as you watch what you eat your fine. you just have extra scans :) @ss6615
