I'm going to try and pump today , and hopefully some milk comes out! I been leaking like crazy! And my boobs hurt of how engorged they are

@yazdahboss, yes I would if I was you!! I do both breast at the same time for 30mins. My lactation specialist said it will help keep up my supply especially in the beginning she said if he wasn't feeding enough from the boob they would stop producing eventually, also because my husband bottle feeds him my milk while I'm resting or taking a shower ect. (Unfortunately we had to introduce the bottle early on because we had to use formula the first few days because my milk hadn't come in yet and he was losing too much weight but he still latches on really well especially with the nipple shield, I'd be lost without that thing lol but I'm so glad I can breastfeed him and my husband can bottle feed so we both get that bonding experience) but all day yesterday I was sooo engorged and in so much pain they were literally hard as rocks! But I was going to quit pumping all together and try to breastfeed only but my lactation specialist called later on that day to check on me and baby and said I should continue pumping to help keep the milk supply and to relieve the engorgement. It helped so much! I was able to sleep comfortably last night because I pumped out so much milk. I've been leaking a bunch too. I've been wearing this sports bra/nursing bra around the house with the nursing pads, it's helped out a lot. I also have one of those Milkies which is a silicone pack that sits in your nursing bra and collects all the milk you leak so you don't waste any. Another thing too that helps relieve the pain is a hot shower and just letting the hot water run on your boobs. Let me know how it goes! Hope you get some relief momma!! 😊👍🏻

Yea I know how you feel , my first baby I had to give him formula too when he was born but as soon as my milk came in he wanted nothing but that! And never even liked formula until he turned one and I had to stop breastfeeding him . With this baby I'm only breastfeeding for the first 3 months then I'm done . I hope I find a good formula to put him on . I know emfamil and similac had some things wrong with their formula . But after he turns one month in going to introduce him to the bottle .

@nowmrspost, I have the Milkies but haven't used it yet. I use the disposable pads right now, they don't bother me yet. I have some of the gel pads from Lansinoh but haven't used them yet either. I barely just started leaking the other day. I notice when I'm breastfeeding on one breast the other one starts leaking a little lol I always make sure to put a burp cloth beneath it 😂

@yazdahboss, yeah I have no idea how long I'll breastfeed for I'm so new at all of this lol. Hopefully you find some good formula. I know nothing about it lol I use all Honest Co. products and I know they make formula but I think even they had some bad reviews about it. Well you got some time to find a good one. Did you ever end up pumping yet?

@yazdahboss, hey that's not lazy it's smart! Lol! We need our rest whenever we can get it!! We've had visitors all week and tomorrow is finally going to be a day where it's just me and my little guy all day while my husband is at work. I plan on doing nothing at all!!! Lol! Probably won't even leave the bedroom much. It's going to be feeding him, changing him, then us both sleeping. All of that on repeat all day lol I'm looking forward to it! 😁
