My whole pregnancy had been a breeze . I'd experienced no morning sickness or nausea what so ever . At every doctors appointment I was assured baby and I were doing great . Everything was great , Up until September 16th . I went in that day , even brought my mom along, ecstatic, because I'd be having an ultrasound as well as my routine check up . I was 35 weeks with 3 days pregnant .

However I did not ever get that ultrasound. Prior to seeing my doctor they took my weight & blood pressure like usual except this time my blood pressure was extremely high. I can't remember how high, I want to say 163/????. I felt fine , up until The nurse told me my doctor might be sending me to the hospital . I suddenly got a pounding headache out of the fear of being sent to L&D. Sure enough, my doctor told me my blood pressure was dangerously high for baby and I. She told me I couldn't even drive myself to the hospital because I could have a stroke or seizure ! Great thing my mom was there to drive me over .

When we got to the hospital I still hadn't realized I'd be having to deliver soon. They put me in an observation room, took my blood pressure, and sure enough it was still high. I was then told the news , I was being induced . Everything after that happened pretty fast.

I was moved to a Labor & delivery room, and I called my husband to tell him he needed to leave work. I got an IV and the catheter inserted ( worst thing ever ) . I also got started on magnesium. And eventually started cervidil. After the cervidil I'd dilated to like a 1 . And I got pitocin . I got my epidural right after being started on pitocin , since i was told the anesthesiologist would be doing c sections for the next few hours.

At this point it had been over 24 hours since I'd been admitted and induced. I don't remember any times because the magnesium took a toll on my body , I could hardly keep my eyes open through my whole Labor . Soon enough I was pushing , and my beautiful baby boy was born 30 minutes later.

When he was born I heard no crying. The scariest thing I've ever been through was almost losing him. My sweet angel choked himself with the umbilical cord on the way out. He was born a healthy 7lbs 2 oz, big for a preemie ! For the next 2 weeks my husband and I lived in the hospital, as he fought in the NICU. Every day we celebrated something new, "he's off the breathing tube!" "We can carry him now!" "His NG tube is out!" "He's taking bottles now" . They told us he'd need to spend 3-4 weeks in the NICU, he made it out in 2 , he's our little fighter. Needless to say, my faith in Jesus is stronger than ever.
