QUESTION: I'm a ftm. My son just turned 13 months. He is still breastfed several times a day (& I do not plan to wean him any time soon. WHO recommends 2 years). But obviously I feed him food and snacks. Anyway, I buy him organic whole milk with added DHA & EPA. He drinks it fine. But I am wondering if he needs to have toddler formula? He's never had formula, but some people are saying to give it instead of milk. His weight and height is great 👍🏻 but I just want my boy to have what's best for him. Opinions please!

If it were me, I would ask the doctor what they recommend for him!

I would think going straight to the milk is fine the only reason I would say that pediatrician might recommend toddler formula is because they probably think it be easier on his stomach going from formula to milk because he's never had either

@keepingupwithhj, @zaysmomma thanks ladies! I will probably talk to the Gastro tomorrow since he's been having issues (c.diff). But he takes the cows milk perfectly fine, I guess I'm just curious to health benefits of the infant formula over cows milk, if there are any.

@butterfli_luv, there's always controversy about plant based milks. I don't like the idea of any sugars added, that's why I am very hesitant. Plus my son doesn't really eat a ton of meat so I think he needs the protein from milk. But I'll continue to look into it, thanks 😊

@butterfli_luv, silk brand organic original only has 1g of protein :(. I'll have to read more labels and decide what's best.
