Okay mommas, I need much needed advice...
My boyfriend wants to go to EDC with his friends next year (he goes every year), our first daughter will be 4 months old. I don't want him going because 1) I do not think it is fair that he doesn't have to give up anything and I have to give up everything, 2) it is an unnecessary waste of money that we do not have, 3) I don't want to be left home alone for 4-5 days with our first daughter, having to do everything by myself. How do I get my point across with him that I do not want him going ? When should we have this conversation? And what do I do if he ends up going anyways ? Note: I have bad anxiety as it is, so things like these make it spike.

Doing things by yourself is not that bad. you'll be okay. id let him go.

You think so? I guess I just wish he would give up something because I have had to give up everything...😕 @mommyof1boyy

did you tell him all these things? because I totally agree. going out with friends etc is one thing but edc is a big affair. plus what if something happens to him, you or baby while hes away?

I haven't talked to him yet, he keeps posting on Facebook how excited he is to go and all his friends are talking about it. I let him go out with his friends all the time, to like local bars and stuff, but being 8 hours away for a couple days and if something happens, worries me so much. He doesn't even think about it 🙄 @kambam

I would just try to explain it all calmly. that youre worried and you'd rather he skip it just this once so he can enjoy his new bundle. maybe compromise. "if you do this ill do ___"
but he'll do what he wants ultimately 😑

and by that time if you ARE alone you'll have the hang of things etc

That's a really good tip! Thank you! @kambam Yeah, I'm just afraid of being alone being a FTM and all and I'll be back at work full-time.

you don't need to give up everything because you're a mother. you deserve fun too and you need yo tell him that. I'd let him go and then when he comes home you go out and do what you'd like to do.

I'd say tell him how u feel. But honestly I'd let him go. It's just 4,5 days that's not so bad. I have 2 kids and my toddler makes a mess every where while I'm taking care of my 2 month old and my husband has to leave me for months at a time due to him being in the military and yes its hard but this is what we signed up for as mothers. To be there for our spouses and kids. Don't worry about bc one day you'll get to do something and he can stay home with the baby. My husband lets me go out to bars with friends once in a while and he stays with the girls. Your time will come. Let him have his fun. Good luck hun

I totally agree with you. All your reasons are valid and if your back to work full time by then? I think it would be pretty hard to be home by yourself for 5 days. Doing everything, plus constantly worrying about him and what he's doing, if he's ok, etc. I think i would say if he could skip it this once he can definitely go the next year because your baby will be 1 already. At 4 months, yes you will have the hang of it (I think, I'm a FTM mom too and my son is only 2 months) but it will still be hard. Plus personally I wouldn't want my husband going and getting fucked up at EDC while his wife and newborn baby were at home. I mean 4 months isn't really newborn but still very young! I would just miss him like crazy. And to be exhausted from doing all the baby work plus house work while he's just out dancing and partying idk.. I wouldn't like it. But that's my own opinion. Do what you feel is right for you guys 😊

@kambam, @mommyof1boyy @krystalee @giananiicole you mommas are wonderful. I was really just overreacting. It is 8 months away and I really don't want to be worrying about this right now. When the time comes, we're going to talk about him going and if the time is right. Right now all focus is on the baby and preparing for her 😊 I am so happy that I've found a guy that I can communicate so well with and we work as team 💞
