Okay so of course I have to ask lol. I'm 39 weeks 80% effaced and up until today had no dilation. My doctor said she was going to try and "help me out" and get a finger through (which she did and it aHURT lmao). My question is has anyone been in a similar situation and it actually did help them out and labor come soon??

With my previous 3 I never dilated. During my second pregnancy I asked them to stretch my membranes. They did. My water broke that night.

@randaroo, she didn't say anything about my membranes so I didn't think that's what she done. Is that what it was if she had to push through herself??

Usually you have to ask for it. I would definitely request it.
