I thought girls were easier than boys — until my third child

When I was merely a mother of two children — one boy and one girl — I thought I had it all figured out: Girls were sooo much easier than boys. It was simply a fact.

My son was (and still is, honestly) a high-needs, “spirited” child. As a baby, Z needed to be held at all times.
